Canvas Youth Arts: Urban Art Creative Tutorials - registration until 17 July 2020.
During the July school holidays you’re invited to join us online for a series of creative tutorials with artists from Adelaide Central School of Art (ACSA)
This online course will take you through a range of activities, ideas and videos to inspire you to create your very own artwork based on your local environment.
We’ll introduce you to a number of local, Adelaide-based street artists, give you access to exclusive artist talks and show you where to find some of the best public art in South Australia.

Course benefits and outcomes
You will gain an understanding about different techniques and ideas about urban art, the use of colour, creating stylised art and what public art is.
You will also have access to a range of dedicated resources to support your learning and development of your arts practice.
At the conclusion of the course, there will also be an opportunity to have your work exhibited in the Canvas Urban Youth Art Exhibition.
Who can get involved
This course is designed for teens at all levels of drawing experience.
Whether you’re just giving art a try or you’re experienced and looking to explore different techniques, this course will inspire your creativity, help you find confidence, and improve your artistic practice!
Tutorials, talks, activities and resources will become available during the July School Holidays

Recommended course materials
Participants will need to provide their own art materials, we suggest the following:
- graphite pencils (HB + 2B)
- A4 or A3 sketchpad (preferably Canson or Quill)
- black biro pen
- black fine-liner (waterfast)
- willow charcoal
- kneadable eraser
- watercolour paint
- 3 sheets of watercolour or 300gsm paper
- set of soft sable brushes
