Do you have a community activity you would like to promote?

The Community Noticeboard provides an avenue for local not-for-profit groups and community organisations to promote their community activities.

If your group or organisation is based within the Council area and would like to promote its activities or services, please read the guidelines below and complete the online Community Noticeboard Application Form

Community Noticeboard guidelines

The City of Norwood Payneham & St Peters reserves the right to accept or reject applications for notices to be included on the online Community Noticeboard based on community interest and the guidelines provided below.

You are welcome to submit your community activity if it:

  • occurs within the City of Norwood Payneham & St Peters council area
  • is open to the general public
  • is socially inclusive.

Application procedure:

  • all requests for display of notices on the online Community Noticeboard should be submitted using the Community Noticeboard Application Form
  • applications must be received at least 2 weeks before the start date of the activity.

The application may be refused if it:

  • could conflict with the Council’s values, policies or statutory responsibilities
  • promotes a specific religious or political activity or belief
  • has an administrative or governance focus (e.g. AGM, member meetings or board meetings)
  • does not provide complete information, such as dates, times and venue
  • does not promote the City of Norwood Payneham & St Peters in a positive manner
  • affects the Council’s reputation and public image negatively
  • is offensive, abusive or racist
  • promotes tobacco or alcohol use or distribution
  • appears to only promote or advertise the services of a business or commercial enterprise
  • is held outside the City of Norwood Payneham & St Peters
  • promotes private garage sales, regular school sporting activities, sporting events or home games etc.

The Council reserves the right to edit, decline or remove listings at its discretion.

Volunteers needed for RSPCA Op Shop

The Norwood RSPCA Op Shop has available shifts for volunteering on Mondays from 10am to 1pm & Tuesdays from 10am to 4pm.

Our valued volunteers are at the core of our retail operations, and we are looking for dedicated and teachable individuals who are capable of:

  • welcoming and assisting customers in store
  • assisting with the general housekeeping and cleanliness of the store
  • receiving, sorting and pricing donated goods in line with Op Shop policies and procedures
  • handling cash and accurately processing purchases through the Point Of Sale system, and
  • replenishing stock levels.


The tasks in our stores are not limited to just these, and there is always a variety of work to do. So, if this interests you and you like meeting new people and learning new skills, then we want to hear from you!

Adelaide Pioneer VIEW Club Luncheon and Guest Speaker

VIEW Clubs of Australia are fundraising and social groups for women. We raise money for the charity, The Smith Family. There are 19 VIEW Clubs in South Australia.


We invite visitors to the next Luncheon of this Club on Tuesday 12th March, 2024 at 10.30 for 11am at The Kensi Hotel, Regent St Kensington. Our guest speaker will be Gillian Baker. Her address is entitled Grand Designs with a Chance of Drowning! (Building a 53 feet yacht over 13 years and sailing away into the Sunset.)

Elcies Op Shop, Norwood - volunteers needed

We are looking for dedicated volunteers to join our team at Elcies, Norwood.

Our boutique Elcies Op Shop in Norwood has earned a reputation for quality brands and second-to-none service. We are looking for Shop Assistants to give our customers the warmest of welcomes, and assist them to find what they’re looking for (and maybe more!?)

With every sale helping South Australians in need by funding Lutheran Care’s vital programs such as Emergency Relief, you can feel good that your volunteering efforts will really make a difference.

If you would like to volunteer as a Shop Assistant and are available for one 4-hour shift or more Monday to Saturday then, we encourage you to apply to volunteer with us.

Blokes in the Kitchen

Targeting men 50 years plus who want to gain skills in meal planning and preparation, with the side benefits of socialisation, new friendships and fun.

10 Sessions one per month with a maximum of 10 participants per session.

Participants will receive printed recipes, and personalised apron.

Location: Payneham Centre Kitchen and Community Hall

Costs $15 per month which includes ingredients, 2 course meal shared at close of session.

Payneham Probus Club - meets monthly

The Payneham Probus Club meets at the The Sicilia Social and Sports Club, 45a O.G. Road, Klemzig SA 5087, on the 4th Tuesday of each month between 10am and 12 noon.

Each meeting begins with a general meeting of about 30 minutes then a fellowship break for refreshments followed by entertainment by a guest speaker. Guest speakers cover a diverse range of topics - to ensure there is something of interest for all members.

Following the meeting members can choose to join for lunch at a local venue.

Members can also enjoy outings and events organized throughout the year.

The club is open to new members and visitors and all will be welcomed in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.

St Peters Probus Club - meets monthly

11/04/2022

St Peters Probus Club meets in the St Peters Youth Centre, Cornish St Stepney (part of Linde Reserve) between 10am and 12 noon on the second Friday of every month from February to November inclusive.

Each month there is a general meeting for 30 minutes then a break for morning tea before being entertained by a guest speaker.

Our members also enjoy additional activities and outings throughout the year.

Memberships are available and visitors are welcome.
